Even though it’s the offseason for NHL hockey, the Carolina Hurricanes are already planning for the future. Preseason schedule announcements are the first order of business. Although they were a bit tardy, the Hurricanes finally made their official statement through X on May 25. On September 24, the season will formally start in Tampa, Florida. Start time for the Canes vs. Lightning game is 7 p.m. EST.
After a brief intermission, the Canes will return to PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina, to face the Florida Panthers, the defending Stanley Cup winners, on September 27. On the following night, the Hurricanes will make the journey to Sunrise to face off against the Florida Panthers on their home ice. Kickoff for both contests is set for 7 p.m. EST.
The Hurricanes will begin their preseason schedule in October with a fresh set of games. October 2 at 7 o’clock in the evening finds the club hosting the Nashville Predators. On October 4th, the team will play host to Tampa Bay, also at 7 p.m. On October 5, the preseason game will take place in Nashville, Tennessee. At 5:00 p.m., the Predators will face off against the Hurricanes.
As the Carolina Hurricanes enter a new chapter in preseason play this year, hockey fans everywhere should anticipate the same level of enthusiasm from Hurricanes fans as they did during the playoffs in the spring.
