In order to raise money for a charitable cause, Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz (CA-25) will be participating in the Congressional Baseball Game today while wearing a jersey from San Jacinto Leadership Academy. The Washington Nationals baseball team will be playing their home game at Nationals Park, which will serve as the venue for the game.
“One of my favorite memories from my childhood was playing baseball on fields that were spread out across the Coachella Valley and the Imperial Valley,” said Congressman Raul Ruiz. “It was a great experience.” Having the opportunity to speak on behalf of San Jacinto Leadership Academy and kids from the San Gorgonio Pass as they go through the San Jacinto Valley is a privilege for me.
The San Jacinto Leadership Academy is an International Baccalaureate school that serves students in grades 6 through 12 and is located within the San Jacinto Unified School District. I am very proud to be wearing the school’s jersey. As a result of the hard work of members of the teaching staff as well as the support of families and the community, the school system is celebrating the conclusion of yet another successful academic year.
The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington, the Washington Literacy Council, and the Nationals Dream Foundation are the three organizations that benefit from the Congressional Baseball Game, which was first played in 1909 and presently serves as a charitable benefit.
