An injury to the knee has forced Eels player Bailey Simonsson to miss the rest of the season. This outside back will have to have reconstructive surgery at the conclusion of the season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in Round 13’s match against the Sharks. After overcoming chronic headaches, Eel Ryan Matterson is getting back into training for a week before making his comeback to the field.
The Sharks are without back-rower Teig Wilton as they await word on when he will be able to play again after suffering an AC joint injury. Halfback Nicho Hynes will not play in Cronulla’s match against the Broncos so he can recover from a calf injury that jeopardized his opportunity to play for Origin. On Saturday, the Rabbitohs will face the Storm, and Jayden Campbell, who has been out since Round 6 with a knee injury, is expected to return to the lineup as a reserve.
Players like winger Jojo Fifita, center Phil Sami, and playmaker Kieran Foran are all set to return to the Titans for Round 14. After missing Round 12’s record-breaking victory over the Eels due to a calf injury, Cody Walker is now available for the Souths. While the Cowboys have included all six Origin players on their extended roster, utility Jake Granville (who tore his bicep in the triumph against the Roosters) will not be able to play.
