George Byers, a midfielder, was released by Sheffield Wednesday and signed a three-year contract with Port Vale. He will be reunited with Vale manager Darren Moore, who oversaw Hillsborough from March 2021 until June 2023, as a result of the deal. Before being sent on loan to Blackpool last season, Byers made 22 appearances in the Championship for Wednesday, scoring one goal. Since League One relegation last season, he is Vale’s tenth summer acquisition.”From my days at Sheffield Wednesday, I am really familiar with George as a player.
