As a result of the significant amount of turnover that has occurred among the forward group of the Vegas Golden Knights, Bruce Cassidy will be charged with determining the most effective approach to utilize these players.
The most crucial thing for Cassidy to do now that Jonathan Marchessault is not available to play on Jack Eichel’s right wing is to investigate who would be the most suitable to play with him. The Golden Knights will be missing both Michael Amadio and William Carrier, who both played important roles on the fourth line and supplied offense within the middle six. Unfortunately, both of these players will be absent. The loss of Chandler Stephenson’s scoring abilities will still be detrimental to the overall offensive depth of the club, despite the fact that Tomas Hertl will be able to completely replace his productivity.
In spite of the fact that the preseason will start on September 22 and the regular season will start on October 9, the Golden Knights still have a decent amount of time to decide who will play on opening night.
Together with Barbashev, whom he has played with ever since he was acquired from the St. Louis Blues, and Olofsson, whom he played with during his time with the Buffalo Sabres, Eichel is a member of this group. During the previous year, Dorofeyev and Stone demonstrated chemistry with one another, and they would provide Hertl with shooting possibilities. Both Brisson and Holtz will be playing with a veteran who is known for his defensive prowess and who will provide leadership on the ice. Because they have competed against each other in a great number of games, the fourth line will continue to work together to build a powerful checking line.
