Ferdinand, 18, came through the set-up at Brighton & Hove Albion where he now continues to refine his trade in their Under-21’s set-up. Ferdinand Sr was one of the best defenders England has ever produced, with the big, ball-playing defender putting together an impressive career at Manchester United, Leeds United, West Ham United and more. Naturally, there may be extra expectation on his son to succeed. While it is good he is in Brighton’s academy and is now being given a chance in the Southern League Premier Division South with Havant, there is no guarantee he will thrive in the sport.
Ferdinand and Brighton will keep a watchful eye on how Lorenz gets on at Havant in the final stretch of the season.
