The 2026 football season saw the signing of running back Damarius Yates, a product of Kemper County High School in DeKalb, Mississippi. Running back Landis Davila of Farragut High School in 2026 aspires to add more hardware to the Mississippi State trophy case after helping lead Farragut High School to another state title. With a history of success, Farragut High School has been to the state tournament thirteen times and won twelve. Lukas Buckner, Cade O’Leary, and Landis Davila, all seniors at Farragut, will be attending Mississippi State University.
Davila has been an integral part of the FHS program ever since he enrolled in high school, making him a true pillar of the program. Even though there were a lot of people at the signing table, Davila says that nobody was ever unhappy because they were accustomed to high expectations and worked hard.
Davila and his teammates are prepared to continue their legacy at the collegiate level, where they will face new opportunities. Moving to Starkville, Mississippi, and immersing themselves in a new culture, particularly at a storied university like Mississippi State, is something they are really looking forward to.
Omaha is the final destination for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, and every offseason, Davila and his crew aim to update the graphics on the outfield wall at Dudy Noble Field. A taste of collegiate life and top-tier competition is exactly what they’re looking forward to.
